I'm so sorry to hear this news from Vanderbilt. It sounds like a really tough conversation, but I'm glad the doctor was so clear and compassionate with you and your mom. It's also good that he's looking into other ways to improve your quality of life and is open to second opinions at Duke and Stanford. Your perspective on not wanting a "yes" when it should be a "no" really resonates – it shows incredible strength and self-awareness. Sending you lots of support as you navigate this next chapter and explore these other options. Onward! ❤️
Laura, I loved your analogy with the Little Engine That Could. I also understand the love and appreciation you feel for your body and especially your remarkable heart. I sometimes find it interesting how much attention people place of their skin and outside appearance when most of life depends on those lovely internal organs. Thank you for the openness and honesty you are sharing with me and others about this incredible personal life journey.
Laura, I am so sorry to hear this! I am grateful the doctor was honest and was willing to refer you to get other opinions. I also love that he is willing to review your file again to give recommendations on improving your quality of life. He sounds like a great doctor and an awesome one to have on your side. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
You are incredibly strong, Laura! This journey is a difficult one and we’re so sorry you are experiencing disappointment right now. Praying for clarity and peace as you get more information about treatment. Sending ((hugs)).💗Love, Susan & Tim
Laura (hi, neighbor!), thanks for sharing your story and your feelings and vulnerability. I'm sorry for news that you weren't wanting to hear. The heart is an amazing organ. I often think about how it is what makes life happen, and just beats... on its own... Amazing. And I'm also thankful that yours has stuck with you for this many years. Hoping for many more. Love, DeMo
Well crap! But what a good and compassionate doctor. I will continue to pray that there are things that can be done to will help improve your quality of life... and I will continue to praise and pray for the little engine that could! With much love and many prayers! 🙏❤️🙏
